"My background in investing started with a handful of shares of Dr. Pepper stock when I was about 14 years old. After a nice two-year gain, I sold those shares and was hooked." Upon graduating from the University of Kansas, Jeff spent time in the retail and service industry, including having been an investor/owner and COO of a Restaurant and Comedy Club in Illinois. Knowing the time, financial, and operational challenges business owners face, allows Jeff to turn his ongoing business owner experiences into intrinsic value and advice for his small business clients.
Having already worked with a couple firms in the industry, Jeff joined forces with Utica Capital in 2010. In January of 2015 he took on the task of expanding the team’s regional footprint to include its fifth location a new branch in the greater Fort Worth, TX area.
Jeff’s expertise is in the development, implementation, and ongoing management of customized portfolios and diversification strategies designed to meet your family legacy goals. He publishes a regular commentary for clients, contributes to a local paper, and has appeared on several morning news shows. He has been married to his wife Laura, another Jayhawk, for 27+ years, and they have two great sons, Kyler and Lucas. When not working they enjoy sailing their boat, as well as, Jeff coaching youth with the Grapevine Junior Sailing Team.

Jeff publishes a weekly commentary for clients, contributes monthly to a local paper, and has appeared on several local morning news shows. He has been married to his wife Laura, another Jayhawk, for 25 years, and they have two awesome sons. When not working they enjoy sailing their boat, and Jeff coaching youth with the Grapevine Junior Race Team on the Texas Sailing Association Youth Circuit.
